ITG 1972: The Free Stuff
As some of you may have heard, I busted a box of ITG 1972: The Year in Hockey last week. I have been thinking of how to give some of these cards away, and I think I have come up with a way.
Basically, you have to make me notice you on this site. Post some comments, link to me from your blog, post a link for discussion somewhere – whatever. Don’t be stupid about it though – spam comments and spam postings will just annoy me. Every ‘thing’ you do will get your name thrown in the pot for the draw, and you can have multiple entries.
Here’s the prize packages (Check out the box break post for scans):
1st Place (Well, the first name I draw out): Ron Ellis Autograph, Val Fonteyne Autograph, Bobby Hull insert, Kent Douglas Blank Back.
2nd Place: Larry Mavety Autograph, Al Arbour Coaches insert
3rd Place: Alex Delvecchio Jersey Card, Blank Back Checklist
I also have the He Shoots, He Scores Redemption points. These are up for grabs as well, but I don’t want to force them on someone who has no interest in collecting and redeeming them. So, going from third place up to first, the winners will have the option of swapping their prize lot for the redemption points. If no one takes the lot, I will probably come up with another way to give the points away.
If you need to get in touch to swap links, or to let me know about anything, there is a contact link in the sidebar. I am going to run this contest for a week – so it will end Saturday, October 23/09 at about 8:30 AM Saskatchewan time.

I’m in, Thanks!
sweeet deal… count me in.
and I’ll throw a shout out on my blog for this too…
The historical sets are really cool. I’ve learned a lot from reading the backs of cards. I don’t know as much about hockey as I do about the other major sports. I grew up in the Phoenix, AZ area. But I’d like to learn more about hockey’s history by checking out some cards. Sounds like a fun contest.
puck yeah … I’m in !
I’m in. I love 1972. Thanks!
Very generous! I’ve bought a few boxes of 1972 and I love every no name autograph that I get. It’s a great way to learn about the players from the past. Who knows, it might bring about the return of bad hair and bad moustaches. It’s shocking how many players look like they’re 50 too.
I am in too. I love the 1972 “bubble” design.

Chuck’s Used Cards , eh ?
Love the 72 design. Being an Ontario boy, grew up with hockey and love everything about it. Players, stars or not, especially in those days, were real role models.(at least what we knew) Count me in and would love to win any of these prizes. Thanks
